UK NEWS: POLICE OFFICER WINS DISCRIMINATION CASE

The Voice reports that a black gay police officer has won a case of racial and sexual orientation discrimination against Scotland Yard. Det Con Kevin Maxwell, 33, who works in the Met Police’s counter terrorism command, reportedly told the tribunal he was exposed to racist and homophobic comments from other officers and seniors during duty and training sessions, which he found to be an offensive environment to work in. “Such practices and behaviour have no place in a modern police service,” Simon []

Tabloid rag The Sun reports that Simon Cowell is keen to hire rapper/’singer’ Estelle as this year’s new X-Factor judge (replacing Kelly Rowland). A “source” disclosed to The Sun, ‘Estelle’s name is very high on his list now and serious enquiries have been made as to her availability for auditions in May.’ Hahahahhahaha I wonder how long that “list” is. BRIT AWARDS 2012 – WHAT A SNOREFEST / THE WINNERS

The Brit Awards 2012 took place in London several hours ago and it was a snorefest. The ceremony was drier than stale bread and the audience made up of industry folk lacked enthusiasm as usual. The tributes to Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse (Rest In Peace) were  both pitiful. I don’t even know what that was. Bruno Mars gave the best performance. Well done Bruno! UK TV: ITV 1 SET TO AIR DOCUMENTARY ABOUT BRITISH SPRINTER DWAIN CHAMBERS

Scene TV reports that ITV 1 will air a documentary about British sprinter Dwain Chambers. The documentary will chronicle his rise and subsequent fall after he received a two-year athletics ban and a ban from the Olympics for life (Chambers legally challenged this decision) for using THG, a banned substance.
