BLACK BRITISH RADIO STATION BAN’S JAY Z’S ‘DRUNK IN LOVE’ LYRICS

Black British Internet radio station Bang Radio has announced that they will wipe Jay Z’s lyrics (“eat the cake Anna Mae I said eat the cake Anna Mae”) from Beyonce’s new single ‘Drunk In Love’. After discovering that the rapper’s verse references the abuse that singer Tina Turner suffered at the hands of her former husband Ike Turner, station executives decided to ban the verse. DIRECTOR STEVE MCQUEEN SET TO MAKE ‘EPIC’ BBC BLACK BRITISH EXPERIENCE DRAMA

Shadow and Act reports that award-winning director Steve McQueen is planning to make a BBC drama on the black experience in Britain, from 1968 to 2014. McQueen says the series will be “epic in scope,” and will chronicle the lives of a group of friends and their families from 1968 to 2014. UK NEWS: TOTTENHAM MP DAVID LAMMY REFUSED TO ATTEND MARK DUGGAN VIGIL

Via BBC News Tottenham MP David Lammy has said he refused to attend a vigil for Mark Duggan because he did not want to share a platform with “anarchist groups”. He told The Andrew Marr Show he did not want to appear with “people that don’t accept that a jury laboured and reached a decision”. Up to 500 people gathered at Tottenham Police Station on Saturday.
