East London boy turned mega successful Hollywood/TV star Idris Elba returned to Hackney to open a new affordable housing project (Elba House), named in recognition of his achievements.  Click HERE to read more…. …………………………………………………………………………………….. LIGHT SKIN VERSES DARK SKIN EVENT CANCELLED

Last week I posted news about the Light Skin Verses Dark Skin party that is set to take place in Columbus, Ohio (USA) on the 21 January. Well today Media Quicky reports that the “most anticipated party of the year” has now been CANCELLED. According to the website the backlash was so fierce that the club and the promoters decided that it would be best to cancel. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That’s the power of the Internet folks! [Thanks Yinka]

REGGAE LEGEND GREGORY ISAACS DIES

Reggae legend Gregory Isaacs sadly passed away early this morning (October 25th), at the age of 59.  The Jamaican singer had apparently been ill for sometime. Gregory’s hits included Night Nurse, Tune In, My Number One, Love Overdue, Rumours and The Border. Rest In Peace Gregory Isaacs.
