UK MUSIC: JESSIE J – DO IT LIKE A DUDE

People have been raving about this lady and her official debut track/video (Do It Like A Dude) all day, so I decided to finally check out new artist Jessie J. The track – When I first watched the video I just thought of Rihanna and Lady Saw. In my opinion Do It Like A Dude isn’t particularly outstanding, it just sounds like your average UK “urban” fare.  But it will probably go on to become Jessie’s first UK number 1 single, and []

VIDEO: DIDDY DIRTY MONEY FT SKEPTA (REMIX) HELLO GOOD MORNING

Well it’s finally here folks – The Diddy, Dirty Money, Skepta video. When the remix track hit the Internet earlier this year (featuring the UK’s Skepta), feelings were ‘hurt’ this side of the Atlantic because US websites (namely Worldstar)/blogs failed to acknowledge it. But we now have a video to support the track so it may peak their interest this time. By the way I like this remix. I have to applaud Skepta he did a good job. The video – Hahahahahahahaha and hahahahahahahaha at Chipmunk. Your thoughts []

UK MUSIC: TINCHY STRYDER, DELVIN, GIGGS, TINIE TEMPAH, PROF GREEN, CHIPMUNK AND EXAMPLE – GAME OVER

Tinchy Stryder’s video for Game Over is here folks, featuring the artists listed above. The track – The 13-21 year old demographic will love it. The video – I can see what the director was trying to do here but it just becomes boring after a while. The problem is there is a lack of charisma here and they fail to command the viewer’s attention. American rappers (even the least talented ones) have always excelled at holding the audience’s attention visually via []

Based on a true story and filmed in London, Men Lie, Women Lie… But The Facts Don’t addresses a number of social issues – one in particular which is so often overlooked. It follows the story of Ryan CLINTON, a young man known on the streets as ‘SHANKZ’ and the events which lead to a gruesome discovery late one summer afternoon. Starring Tanya Vital (Emmerdale Farm, Holby City) and Phoenix James (Romeo is Dying, Dora, Road to F.A Cup), alongside a number of other talented actors – []

UK ARTIST: AKS – THE CON (PREMEDITATED MURDER DUB)

Check out up and coming rapper AKS’  brilliant and clever track The Con. This is his latest dub of J Cole’s Premeditated Murder, and the track revolves around the use of the word/syllable “con” in an attempt to highlight some of the lies or misguided ideals we hold true on a daily basis. AKS is definitely one artist I will continue to keep an eye on .   Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?
