Via The Daily Mail A nightclub reveller who stabbed a rap star in the neck with a broken bottle was jailed for eight years today. Anthony Jones, 26, savagely attacked chart-topper Professor Green in the trendy Cargo nightclub in Shoreditch, east London. Last week I posted news about the Light Skin Verses Dark Skin party that is set to take place in Columbus, Ohio (USA) on the 21 January. Well today Media Quicky reports that the “most anticipated party of the year” has now been CANCELLED. According to the website the backlash was so fierce that the club and the promoters decided that it would be best to cancel. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That’s the power of the Internet folks! [Thanks Yinka]

Mashonda (the former wife of producer Swizz Beatz) will appear in the new VH1 reality series, Love & Hip Hop, alongside rapper Jim Jones’ girlfriend Chrissy Lampkin and Fabolous’ girlfriend, who are two women waiting for their boyfriends to settle down. While lurking over at The Lala Report I came across old footage of hit 90s R&B girl group Xscape performing on the brilliant BET show Teen Summit (sadly no longer with us). Judging by the fashion and hairstyles I’m guessing that this was filmed in either 1990 or 1991. Check out Kandi Burruss, LaTocha Scott, Tamika Scott, and Tameka “Tiny” Cottle-Harris before they hit the big time, and before rapper T.I turned Tiny fool.

A judge ruled yesterday that Dr Conrad Murray will face a criminal trial for involuntary manslaughter, over the death of Michael Jackson. Judge Michael Pastor said today there is sufficient evidence to warrant a case against Dr Conrad Murray following this week’s preliminary hearing. I didn’t believe this news when I first came across it but Sumit over at The Hip Hop Chronicle UK assures me it’s true. 50 Cent has signed former X-Factor contestant Gamu Nhengu to his G-Note label.
