Popular sound system Rampage has announced that they will not be playing at the 2011 Notting Hill Carnival which takes place on the 28th and 29th August. The Jamaica Star reports that a man has been convicted of child abuse after beating and injuring his 5-year-old stepson .Why? Because the little boy took bites out of his dumplings. Dalry Palmer, 30, a labourer from Old Harbour, St Catherine was given a 2-year suspended sentence in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate’s Court on Thursday. Jamal Edwards (founder of popular online broadcaster SBTV) today announced via Twitter that Channel 4 who earlier this year aired a one off documentary titled Inside SBTV, now want to turn it in to a series. Singer/songwriter Nick Ashford who along with wife Valerie Simpson performed and wrote numerous classic R&B hits has sadly died of throat cancer. He was 69. Known as Ashford & Simpson, the duo wrote and produced Motown’s Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, including Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, You’re All I Need to Get By, Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing and Your Precious Love.
