Last week, rapper turned podcaster T.I (real name Clifford Harris) and his wife Tameka ‘Tiny’ Harris, were both accused of sexual assault. At the time, 33 women came forward to accuse the couple of a range of offences. The offences ranged from the sexual assault of women and minors, coercion, rape, drugging and trafficking.
An unidentified woman who alleges that the couple are sexual predators has now hired the attorney Lisa Bloom, to represent her.
Bloom said:
“I have said this for a long time: the music industry is long overdue for a reckoning on how women, especially Black women, are demeaned and abused. Enough is enough.”
Due to the seriousness of these allegations, it was reported late yesterday that Viacom (MTV/VH1), has suspended production on the couple’s hit VH1 reality show, T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle. The show had been shooting its fourth season in Atlanta since December.
In a statement to Deadline, an MTV Entertainment spokesperson said:
“We are aware of the allegations, and while they are not connected to our show, we have reached out to T.I. and Tameka Harris, as well as local and state officials. Given the serious nature of the allegations, we have decided to suspend production in order to gather more information.”
Clifford Harris and Tameka Harris deny all allegations.
