JAMAICA: MAN FORCED TO HIDE IN SHOP AFTER HE IS CAUGHT PUTTING ON LIPSTICK (VIDEO)

*HUGE SIGH*
 Just awful and embarrassing.
It must be very dull and uneventful in May Pen.
I come from a Jamaican background so I am well aware of the deviant attitudes towards homosexuality. This disturbing/ridiculous reaction towards a man, minding his own business and allegedly putting on lipstick comes as no surprise.

The only thing that surprised me about this situation was that the police came to the man’s rescue.

  1. Man Hounded for allegedly wearing lipstick – Another example of a sick Jamaican society. The homophobic crowd would sooner tolerate gang rape, random gun crimes, domestic violence, child abuse, rampant corruption than a young man supposedly wearing lip stick. The level of ignorance in Jamaica is beyond belief. No doubt half of those in the crowd are illiterate, having never been to school or picked up a book since leaving school. I encourage them to read, and broaden their narrow, ignorant minds.

  2. I am surprised the police didn’t kill him, he must have been terrified of them too . God’s hand . This is a first . This is scary as hell. People decide whether you have the right to live or not.I am afraid he is more trouble now that this has been broadcast. Jamaica isn’t big enough to hide . All this over a lipstick .

  3. This represents a broader argument about culture, morality and self-determination, less about literacy and lipstick.
That said, Jamaicans do love any piece of excitement and I’ve witnessed similar scenes on trips there involving thieves. As with any country like India, America and others, Jamaica is quite a complex and varied society. The same country that produces the extremely popular Shebada character also gives you the influential Sizzla both of whom represent Jamaica’s multifaceted cultural attitudes today and both are most likely well loved in equal measure by people in the report. Does that make them hypocrites? maybe, maybe not but one thing’s for sure: ‘Jamaicans nuh easy’ never have been nor will they ever be.
