Digital Spy reports that hit R&B group Damage (minus Coree Richards) will star in their own fly on the wall television series.
Jade Jones, Andrez Harriett, Noel Simpson and Rahsaan J Bromfield – will be followed by cameras as they try to continue their musical comeback.
Damage apparently also want to use the TV show to give viewers a glimpse inside their private lives, and to ‘give people who don’t get a chance to come into this industry a foot up’.
‘It’s not just about music for us, there [are] lots of avenue we want to get involved in’ Jade told The Sun.
‘We’ve just recently been talking with some production companies to do a documentary of the band.
‘It’s a music-led documentary – not just solely about us – but there will be other elements involved.’
Jade’s bandmate Andrez added: ‘It’s a passion of ours, to give people who don’t get a chance to come into this industry a foot up.
‘There’s a connection between this subject and what we want to do with our documentary. It would be nice to support anybody who’s disadvantaged, regardless of their age.’
[Thanks Ronke]
Those of you who tune in to The Big Reunion on ITV 2 will know that Damage are one of the groups featured on this year’s show. What I found interesting about the dramatic build up to them ‘reuniting’ during last Thursday’s episode was (and please correct me if I am wrong here) that members Jade Jones, Andrez Harriett, Noel Simpson and Rahsaan J Bromfield had already made their peace with each other and reformed several years ago. They were also one of the acts that supported Jodeci last year in concert. The only one left out in the freezing cold was (and still is), is former member Coree Richards.
It was strange watching Jade and Andrez talk about meeting up with Noel Simpson and Rahsaan J Bromfield again. I just kept thinking ‘but I am sure the four of you reunited long before this’. The real reunion here is the four remaining members meeting and thrashing out past issues with Coree.
But anyway I digress…
This proposed fly on the wall series should be interesting.
I wonder if ITV 2 will only agree to commission the series if Jade Jones’ other half Spice Girl Emma Bunton signs on to appear in every episode.
