I cannot believe that stand-up comedian/actor Felix Dexter recorded the comedy monologues below almost 20 years ago and they are still hilarious/relevent in 2013
I agree with my friend’s response to this post that “not many of today’s crop of comedians are insightful or intelligent enough to do this brand of humour”. Or BRAVE enough.
There are also a number of black British comedians on the circuit today who in my opinion are just not funny. Forgive me if I don’t find material lifted from Twitter and your recycled jokes told by superior comedians back in 1990s side-splittingly funny.
But you have a generation of comedy fans now who think very differently, and are too young to remember when those jokes were told the first time around because they were sleeping in cots and still being breast fed.
Anyway check out some of Felix’s classic monologues from the hit 1990s BBC comedy sketch show ‘The Real McCoy’.

The guy is too underated. I used to love him on The Real Mccoy
One of my favorites back in the day. I hope one day him, Lenny Henry & Vas Blackwood all seat down and come up with some grown man comedies shows.
Their was a skit from back in the 90’s that was floating around on youtube years back with both Lenny Henry and Felix Dexter that was good, unfortunately i can no longer find it.
I used to really look forward to Felix’s spot on the show! He used to have a character that was a London Underground ticket inspector as well
