After billionaire mogul Oprah Winfrey revealed news of her encounter with a racist store assistant while out shopping in Zurich, Switzerland (click here to read all about the incident) the Swiss tourist board has now issued an apology to the star.
Spokeswoman Daniela Baer said:
“We are very sorry for what happened to her, of course, because we think all of our guests and clients should be treated respectfully, in a professional way.”
The tourism office also posted an apology on Twitter, saying “this person acted terribly wrong.”
However ‘Trois Pommes’ owner Trudie Gotz told the BBC, that Winfrey was “absolutely allowed” to examine the bag, which was kept behind a screen and insists the incident was a “misunderstanding”.
Gotz said:
“My salesperson wanted to give her the handbag in her hand. But she didn’t want to take the bag.” .
“I have to admit that the employee is Italian,” she said. “Of course, she speaks English, but not as well as her mother tongue. It was a real misunderstanding.”
Hahahaha the Swiss tourist board is BRICKING IT.
Ms Gotz better hire herself a publicist.

Trudie Goetz, you weren’t there & you believe your staff but not the customer? Not good enough.
The problem is that they tried to make it look like Oprah was lying about what happened in the store. Not only can she not afford a 40k bag but she is a lier too.
She needs to do a show on this.
