A prominent barrister and judge was arrested and dropped as a prosecution witness in the trial of Chris Huhne’s ex-wife after she allegedly lied to police about her role in trying to ruin the career of the former Energy Secretary, a court heard today.
Constance Briscoe worked “hand in glove” with her friend Vicky Pryce to leak the story about how Huhne passed his speeding penalty points to his wife but denied in a police statement about having any contact with the media over the affair, a jury was told. What a mess.
Innocent until proven guilty but if Constance is found guilty then she is a fool. When will we learn? A black woman in her high-ranking position should have known better, kept her head down and her mouth shut, because when the proverbial hits the fan it’s a wrap!
Her good friend Vicky Pryce will probably walk away from all this unscathed. Constance on the otherhand… well….
But like I said innocent until proven guilty.

I bet Vicky Pryce would not have done the same for Constance if their roles were reversed. She would have offered sympathy, advice and a shoulder to cry on, but she’d be thinking “I aint getting arrested for this Black bitch!”
Even Chris Huhne will be in a better position then Constance (if she is found guilty of any wrong doing) He will most likely spend some time behind bars but when he is released his top politician friends will rally around him and before you know it he’s back in the political fold.
Briscoe has always seemed shady to me. Read her book ‘Ugly’ and couldn’t sympathise with her side at all.
Shady indeed and under increasingly more criticism. I guess the illusion she has created around herself being a victim, speaking up for the abused, an inspiration for other blacks and more bullshit is all falling to pieces now. The real her is surfacing. Never done anything for any one, selfish and cruel, but most of all a liar. Game over, Constance!

Yesterday Vicky Pryce has been found quilty of perverting the course of justice. Constance Briscoe could now be be facing the same fate. Her mother may be reopening the libel case. Excellent news.

the misery memoir that is Ugly is in my opinion a work of fiction. Constance Briscoe is an embarrasment to the legal profession.

I am currently on Chapter 6 of the book and have already found parts of the story hard to believe. Would her mother have really tried to convince her husband that she “forgot” to tell him she had had twins especially after he had seen only one baby on the previous visit to his wife. Also Constance states that Mistress Williams gave her mother twenty-five shillings and a family allowance book. The baby was born in 1962 and it wasn’t until 1977 that family allowance was paid for the first child. Up to that time, family allowance was only paid to the second, and subsequent children and, as the baby was Mistress William’s first child, she wouldn’t have received family allowance and therefore wouldn’t have had an allowance book. Mistress Williams supposedly came to the house to sign forms so that her mother could adopt Denise with no sign of Social Services and no going through the Courts which is normal procedure. The book is very badly written and her story sounds fabricated.

I’ve just finished reading this book and cannot believe that her father, who won the football pools TWICE, and had many houses with which he lived off the rent, would see his daughter struggle with 3 jobs (while she was still at school) to make ends meet. Surely, if this was true, her father should have been portrayed badly – but he didn’t seem to be. She just seemed to struggle to find him when she went looking. I just don’t understand why social services weren’t contacted by the others in this book, who found out that this girls was being abused. Her teacher, her neighbour, her father, her father’s friend…. Unbelievable!
Read the book ugly by constance briscoe and find the book a big joke did not beleive one word of it. I knew some how it did not sound right.
