A young woman suffered horrific facial burns after a woman wearing a Muslim veil threw acid in her face.
Naomi Oni, 20, was walking home after finishing work at lingerie shop Victoria’s Secret when the woman, wearing a niqab – which reveals only the eyes – appeared and launched the apparently random attack.
It is not known whether the attack was motivated by the victim’s work for the store.
On December 30, Miss Oni took the bus home to Dagenham, East London after finishing a late shift at Victoria’s Secret in the Westfield shopping centre in nearby Stratford.
It was around 12.40am, and she was just five minutes from the council flat she shares with her disabled mother, when she saw the woman and felt a ‘splash’ on her face. Continue Reading…

This is such an evil act. Just evil.
As expected Daily Mail readers are quick to blame muslims/Islam for this heinous act and are calling for a niqab ban, but how do they know a muslim or even a woman committed this crime? Anyone could have been under that niqab.
It is also possible that someone well known to the victim who knew she was working the late shift could be responsible for this attack.
I just hope that Naomi will eventually find the strength to move on with her life and continues to pursue her dreams. And I hope the police are able to catch the scum responsible soon.

Sick, you have to be bitter and twisted to do this to someone.
this story breaks my heart………. the attacker had no apparent personal connection!
is alleged to be muslim just because she or he wore a particular item of clothing?
and seem to have targeted miss oni because of her cultural background!
i hope they get whoever did this!!!!
this is a bigger story than its being made out to be… i reckon the attacker will strike again
for one person to dree up like that stalk some one with acid and then attack them and not know them… is even more worrying
i wonder how hard the police are looking for this person!!! because it sounds like the beginning of a series of attacks
It sounds like a very personal attack. It is hard fore to believe that her attacker did not know her from somewhere. Maybe school, college, boyfriend issues. I hope she seeks help and all the counselling that is on offer, she sounds crashed and hopeless and it sounds like it’s going to quite a journey for her. Looking at life and people differently. I wish her a quick recovery. I don’t even want to say anything about the evil person.
Or maybe a case of mistaken identity. Smh
or maybe it was an intentional attack and the person purposefully wore a niqab to throw suspician elsewhere? i’m not saying its not possible a muslim person would do this … but it think we have to leave space for doubt that it may also not have been a muslim person!!!
but actually a person dressing up in a niqab!
Be strong Naomi, you’re obviously a good, decent person. I wish you the swiftest recovery.
This is so sad……
Sad story. I believe it was someone known to her…who wore a niqab so as not to be recognised.
