“Black chicks, white chicks and the lighties” – Are “lighties” now considered a separate race within the black community?
Anyway Skepta has done a good job of recapturing the early So Solid vibe, sound and visuals alongside the group’s leader Megaman. So good in fact that at first I thought it was Megaman featuring Skepta.
I was a So Solid fan so I really like this track.
Your thoughts please. Hit or Miss?
I like this, megaman’s still got it
I thought the same thing when I listened to it earlier and heard that line, but rolled my eyes and carried on listening. I don’t have the energy today…(!)
The track reminds me of “Vintage So Solid”, and took me down memory lane. I like it, I was just waiting for Asher D, Romeo, Lisa Maffia, et al to pop up. So Solid should reform man – c’mon lads!! Even though it’s Skepta’s track, I’m listening to it thinking it’s So Solid!! LOL
Lighties is a term used to describe females of mixed racial heritage (black/white), so in a sense, they are a separate race.
Feeling this track. Has the same so solid sound, but the tune still sound relevant.
To describe. Someone of mixed heritage. As a “lightie” or anyone who happens to be light skinned is an absolute joke. Pure foolishness.
Not surprised…can Team UK ever not mention a females complexion in a song…
