Variety reports that British actor Aml Ameen will star in the new Lee Daniels’ film ‘The Butler’.
“The Butler” is based on the life of Eugene Allen, a White House servant who worked for eight First Families. Ameen will play “Young Cecil,” a starving boy who escapes the deep South and along the way is taken in and “polished” by the manager of a hotel restaurant.
Oscar winner Forrest Whitaker will portray the butler in the White House. The ensemble drama also stars Oprah Winfrey, David Oyelowo, Liam Neeson, John Cusack, Alan Rickman, Jane Fonda and Robin Williams with production starting later this month in New Orleans.
Congratulations Aml.
