UK TV: MEET THE BANDAIS (STARRING FORMER EASTENDERS STAR BUNMI MOJEKWU)

Check out the comedy pilot ‘Meet The Bandais’  starring Bunmi Mojekwu, Tobi Bakare and Adelayo Adedayo.

Produced for E4 and directed by Gary Reich, Meet the Bandais is a comedy show following the exploits of a fictional African family called the Bandais as they leave their small village for the first time to live with a couple of unsuspecting and real British families. The hosts have never left the UK, let alone hung out at home with a black family.  What the host families don’t know is that the Bandais are actually a group of actors playing the role of a tribal family who’ve never seen electric appliances, cars or pet hamsters.  It all sets the scene for the ultimate comedy clash of cultures.

This succeeded in making me laugh out loud.

  1. Oh nooo some highly cringable TV. I watched 3 minutes until the girl spat the food out and couldn’t watch it anymore LMAO. To be honest I don’t know if it’s good or bad, because it makes Nigerians look very very bad, but it’s just a joke. It kinda reminds me of when my white foster family met my Nigerian family for the first time LMAO they should’ve put that on TV.

  2. Hahahhahahahahha.

I like the young guy who is looking for a wife to take back and the hugging.

They don’t state which country in Africa they are from. Just that they are from somewhere deep in Africa.

  3. Are the host family really an unsuspecting “real” family? Or is this whole thing a spoof documentary. I mean wouldn’t they recognise Bunmi as “that actress off Eastenders”? Funny though (but a bit dodgy lol).

  4. I am thinking they are supposedly Malawite or Tanzanians , those are the type of names that you’ll find down there . Epic fail .Mschewww !!!!!
