I wasn’t going to dedicate a post to singer Nicola Roberts but I changed my mind because I fail to see what all the HYPE is about.
Girls Aloud group member Nicola has released her first solo single and people seem to have lost their minds. They are behaving as if her single Beat Of My Drum is the best thing since sliced bread. Sorry but am I missing something here???
It’s crossed my mind that some folk are just pretending to like the song due to it being Nicola and they want to spare her feelings, because the media has been rough on her in the past. But I have to be honest here, the song is badly produced and Nicola looks far too mature to be singing a song like this. It just sounds so childish. And don’t even get me started on the video. The dancing, the costumes, the make-up 😦
I’m afraid Nicole’s first solo effort gets the thumbs down from me.

I heard this yesterday. It is awful. It sounds like something an eight year old would make in her bedroom, please tell me this isn’t a major label behind this because if it is they should be shot.
Nadine’s album was woeful but at least it had some production values, this is truly appalling.

Whenever I see videos like this, it’s like something doesn’t seem right, like they are trying edge black people out, it’s the same feeling I get when I watch any step it up film, black music, black people pushed to the background
@ty,Chico-rei i agree! Also like you said when i look at some videos now days. It is like they are pushing Black people to the background. But also what was once our music every other ethnic group is trying to copy. And when they copy our music they are considered great! Awesome! Amazing! I think not…. But that seems to be the conscientious of the the so called main stream media. But what gets me is that other Black fall right in line with it as well… Ty you need to come to the states..promote your latest CD it’s really good! Send your video to BET…The Monique Show she loves fresh new talent. You would be fresh because they don’t know you over here.. Just a thought… Oh upload your video on her site….you never know. She has had guest on her show that did it…..
