The creators of Top Spin 4 for some reason thought that this commercial starring tennis champion Serena Williams was far too sexy for TV so rejected it.

@Ty why should they want to look European when they are not. And yes we do have a lot of things going on…but why!!! Why not look like a Black Women without the influences. I guess for me i just don’t get the wanting to look like others. Never have and never will… see to me it shows how much power other have over how we view ourselves as Black people. When you talk about clothing….then hey! But Black folks have choices on how they want to look. And it says a lot when you basically alter who you are to look and please others. I look at Beyonce, Janet just to name a few and they go all the way. I like them…but I wish they were more conscious of the beauty of being a Black woman. Without so much influence by others…. My girl is a Black woman and I would hate it if she came home with this European look. Because that is not what I like in my woman. But each to his own….i just wish that other Black people would find Black beauty BEAUTIFUL !!!!! Normally I jell with what you have to say…but this one… not brother!!!
Have you seen the Victoria Secret Ads, bikini clad angels? Have you seen Kim Kardashian ads and all the music videos. Katy Perry anyone? The machine is crazy, and if it was two Caucasians it would be all ok. Ridiculous!!!!!
Tammy I agree 1000%. The double standards are crazy. The first thing I asked my sister when she told me about this was “what about the Victoria Secretes commercials?”.
Really? What is going on, Serena is an incredible athlete, but that wasn’t enough for the game, they needed more, you know because how flipping boring is tennis or any other sport with women without them revealing something giving some sort of sex appeal! Over it! Oh, and as far as Victoria Secret it’s suppose to be sexual it’s a freaking lingerie commercial, would you know what to buy from them if they had women whispering about hell I don’t know they’d be whispering and then saying who’d you reveal your secret too, it would look like a period commercial
