The Justice for Smiley Culture public meeting took place several hours ago at Brixton Town Hall in London.
British Reggae star Smiley Culture (real name David Emmanuel) who burst on to the music scene in the mid 1980s died on the 15 March during a police raid inside his Surrey home.
According to the Metropolitan Police David stabbed himself to death while making a cup of tea during a police raid. Yes that’s right because the British police make a habit of allowing ‘suspects’ to make CUPS OF TEA WHILE THEY RAID THEIR HOMES!
This is just heartbreaking. Some things will NEVER change in this country. If you thought that deaths in police custody were a thing of the past then think again!
Rest In Peace David Emmanuel aka Smiley Culture.

Watching this public meeting reminds me of the uprisings in Brixton 30 years ago against the police. There was just so much passion, anger and emotion in that room. The people of Brixton will not let this rest.
A march to Scotland Yard will take place on the 16 April.
