Why are there so many nominees in the Best UK Act, Best International Act and Best African Act categories?
No nomination for reggae star Sean Paul this year – Thank you Jesus!
Plan B is an R&B/Soul act now…hmmmm what an interesting transition. I bet he wins Best UK R&B/Soul Act and Best Album.
Anyway Mad News wishes all those who have been nominated the best of luck…… even the UK acts 😀

Kanya King is like Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny she appears once year, although unlike the other two I’m usually disappointed with the gifts she brings us!
Also wondering if Jason Derulo and Travis McCoy will be the ‘big’ ‘live’ performances on the night, with their appearance on the sizeable Inernational list and probably the only two on there who would turn up.
LOL!!!! Oh YES I bet Jason performs. Travis too. Jason will probably win an award because he will be in the country. LOL
JJC? Banky W? No D’banj??! No Da Grin (he was big in his short span). Ok, I know I’m a bit slow in the Naij music scene, but has JJC done anything spectacular, apart from We are Africans, lately?
As for Angelique Kidjo, as much as I love her…has she done anything lately?
Whats up with the best UK & International acts (its not like they went far, only Americans)? Na Christmas?
Oh well, here’s to ignoring the MOBOs again.
When is this awards show just going to disappear. It’s embarrassing and pitiful, especially when x amount of no names go up on the stage to collect the award on behalf of someone who quite wisely stayed away from it.
I will smash my TV if Jason Derulo turna up to perform, watching him is like watching paint dry (BORING)
I think Tinie Tempah should win for all his catogories, the only UK artist that has managed to stay true to his form of music and make it a success. Wish other UK acts would do this. But when that cheque gets flashed under thier noses, they start performing track that could have been a Xmas No1 for Mr Blobby, S Club 7 and Fireman Sam. “Can We Fix it?” NO!
I reckon there are so many Best International Act nominations because the organisers think: “At least ONE of ’em will be in town on the night” and whoever turns up will win!
Spot on Pheva! Same with the Best UK act.
There only thing wrong with this list is the fact that hardly any of the acts do Black Origin music anymore, they are POP artists! There is no MOBO music in the best song category at all.
Kanye needed to include all these UK acts when the MOBOs started, it would be a credible award show by now if she stuck to grassroots instead of blowing american acts year after year. She stays riding a bandwagon for that sponsorship doe!
‘There only thing wrong with this list is the fact that hardly any of the acts do Black Origin music anymore, they are POP artists!’
So true. The ORIGIN of black music is about rhythm, time signatures, drum and swings. It ain’t about a black kid singing on Eurovision style melodies with zero bass lines and no rhythm. It’s fine if that’s what u like, but I really am tired of ppl alluding most of the names on that list as black music artists when all most of them are, is simply black-skinned ‘artists’ destroying a legacy
Hahahaha… It’s funny how non blacks eg ELI Paper Reed Boy is doing the original black thing and is getting the buzz, and black folks are running away to the other side of things. Ah well… when shall we ever learn. I guess never.
Was in HMV the other day and saw Janelle Monae placed under hip hop category. Oh well..
whitney houston is cruelly robbed for Best International Act
Why is 2face and m.i missing in that list?
