Well… I listened to Prince’s highly anticipated new album 20TEN yesterday….
The tracks sound like they were recorded back in 1985, rejected and then left to gather dust in a vault.
Fast forward 25 years later and Prince one day decides to unlock the vault, dusts off each track, changes the lyrics to suit the times and there you have it folks – 20TEN!!!
Perhaps Prince’s intention was to take us back to the old days with these new tracks, but the music he produced back in his heyday sounded a MILLION times better.
Prince is an absolute legend, but I can actually see why he allowed The Daily Mirror to give away this album for free. It would have been a crime to charge people.

WORST SONG: Everybody Loves Me

Was that a compliment you gave him? Hahaha, I take it that the album stands the test of time, and still sounds great. I love it and not because i am crazed fan or anything (which i am lol), but because i love the feel of it. Spent the whole weekend listening to 20ten and Karl Nova’s ‘just as i am’ the prequel. GREAT STUFF!

I actually like the album! Yes, the sound is similar to his earlier stuff, and it does make me wonder if the tracks have been unearthed from his vault, but they are still good tracks.
I liked the Prince album. It was nice. It’s for his fans not really for this time of instant gratification. It’s the kind of album you will never appreciate until you probably hear him play them live.

It’s funny that the reviews on this album in which the the reviewer is saying it has zero merit or it is a terrible piece of work or in this case is being called “piss poor” are all short hastily written pieces with no specifics or done with any writing skill. It’s obvious the reviewer is taking a personal stance regarding prince as a person and not listening to the music with an open mind. I for one don’t like Prince as a person much either. He is not someone I could get along with for any length of time if I knew him but I know how to separate his music from who he is and his beliefs. It’s ludacris to call this album piss poor. This is a good album by Prince and a great album by anyone else. This may not be a classic but it is the album of the summer for sure. It’s retro, futuristic, and funky all at the same time. The worst review should give this a 5/10. I give it 6.5-7 out of 10. This reviewer whom spent all of thirty seconds writing this review is a douche. I would like to know what he considers not piss poor. He probably gave the Justin Bieber album five stars.

I’m not one for writing long music reviews dissecting every song on an album in fine detail. I listened to the album but it wasn’t my cup of tea. So it’s a short review big deal! I like to get straight to the point and then move on. LOL

My God…what happened to Prince???? He used to be so GREAT in the 80’s. Now he just plain sucks. This CD is absolutley BORING crap. TERRIBLE lyrics. I nearly cried at how just plain awful it is. Why do I even pay attention to this has been anymore?

Spot on review. The “old” sound is one thing, but the vocal melodies sound amateurish. So sad.
