After a week of speculation, false reports and being branded a ‘”woman beater” after allegedly attacking girlfriend Rihanna,  a spokesperson has issued a statement on the behalf of R&B star Chris Brown.

“Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds.”

  1. I actually believe he must have hit her. My issue with this whole thing is that because he is the male who beat a female, it’s a no no. If Rhianna beat him or verbally abused him then it’s acceptable. It’s like teaching girls that you can do whatever, hit a man, verbally abuse them and the law and public will protect you because you will always have the upper hand. Both sides need to be told. If they are claiming that Rhianna is going to represent women being abused and not speak about the whole event and the background of it, i’ll say it is a waste of time. In my opinion, it’s just teaching girls how to get away with things that will end up getting them killed. Two sides are needed in details.

  2. Lati,
There’s a difference between verbal abuse and physical abuse. You have the right to pose your opinion without being hit. In your statement(correct me if I’m wrong) you labeled physical abuse and verbal being one.
If rihanna hit chris first she is responsible or vice versa. It has nothing to do with rihanna stating her opinion. Come on!

  3. P Prez, I said, Verbally abused him or physically attacked him, the key word being OR(either) of the two. Stating an opinion is one thing, and stating an opinion but being abusive is another thing. Calling names and swearing and cursing is all verbal abuse. Physical attack can take you into ICU, but verbal abuse can lead you into a psychiatric hospital. One can destroy your body while the other destroys your soul. Take a pick. I am not saying that she deserves a beating for speaking her mind, the problem is, there are people who will destroy you as person with words and nothing physical and before you know it, you are in therapy. I am not saying that this is the case but, the more women are protected and yet this could be a possibility, it aint right. Some men have committed suicide bse of this and others have developed mental problems. Men are feel embarrassed about these things and rarely speak out bse it’s always their word against the women. Who will you believe, one with physical bruises or one with inner bruises taht are not visible?

  4. Whatever happend to walking away? Yes,its a lot easier said than done, but if you are a subject of any abuse,by all means do so. I feelk no sympathy for men and women who put themselves in that dad and his stepmom are a perfect example of verbal/physical abuse and I feel no remorse. No one wants to be accountable for their actions. Walk away, there’s no excuse!!!!

  5. Yes, walk away is ideal P Prez, i am not saying that he should have beat her, infact he should get his punishment. Ok, he walks away, the one who walks away, remains with the inner bruises, which in the real world, does not count. He keeps walking away and one day, he walks into a train or a car and everyone will wonder WTH happened. They say, “he seemed fine, everything seemed ok and he had his life ahead of him etc etc.. Ye right. Men are assumed strong but i think emotionally they are weak. And women know it and use it. Which can equally be fatal.

  6. Walking away and moving on and getting the necessary help and guidance of a trusted personnel.when you seperate the situation, its no longer your problem. Ppl but to much emphasis. It should have never gotten this volatile. Its never to late love.

  7. I actually think they have both been abusive to each other for a while. I doubt it’s the first time it happened. But this business of protecting girls who are equally abusive and not acknowledging that it can be both ways, is wrong. It is what get girls killed. They say that girls who are physically abused tend to attract physical abusers again but sometimes i wonder if they could look into the other side and see what happens and support them as individuals instead of protecting them and ignoring what migh be a problem. I am not saying that this is the case for all women who are physically abused, there is that other side that i find is ignored.

  8. Their both wrong in my opinion. Like Lati said it probably isn’t the first time it happened. I know she must have gotten her licks in before. This time I guess it just went too far. I am getting to the point I won’t even discuss this shit with people. No one knows what really happened other than those two. Because he is the man he is the one being blamed. Now is gonna be an advocate for women against abuse. This shit is just fishy.
I am not saying that he is right for what he did, because he was dead ass wrong for hitting her. But as soon as it came out he was labeled as the predetor before we even knew what the hell really happened.
