UK rapper Giggs won Best UK Hip Hop at the 2008 BET Hip Hop Awards, which took place on Saturday (October 18th) in Atlanta, Georgia.
He beat fellow nominees Wiley, Skepta, Dizzee Rascal, Ghetto and Chipmunk.

Giggs is alright still, probably one of the best I’ve heard in the uk for a minute, he’s witty, got a decent flow, decent vocal tone, got lyrics (though mainly negative, but maybe thats all the life he has seen) ermmm yeah…
not exactly my cup of tea, but he’s good though!

try it yourself, give a good listen then make your own mind up!… yes he is from Peckham, and if he really raps about what he lives or has lived, u do not want it with him lol…UUUMMMHH!

Honestly I’d never heard of him before his BET nomination. Then I listened to one of his tracks and thought this is way I generally turn the other way when it comes to UK Hip Hop. However I am willing to listen to more of his music now that he has a BET Award on his mantle. …….I want to see what the fuss is about…
and even though I’m not a fan of what he talks about, it’s the way he talks about it that has made me a appreciate his talent!

first time i heard giggs was 4 years ago and he has come a long way hard work and determination and as far as setting up your own artists/label and releasing mix cd’s consistantly and finding yourself a distribution deal with no financial backing by major labels….. goes…….. i say well done and congratulations
i’m not from London but any club i go to in the south-east uk DJ’s are spinning giggs, he is deffinately this generation music and is on fire right now
but what giggs is putting out is negative and young blacks in the uk need to rise not fall.
My fingers are crossed and i hope that he does not become a statistic stereotype like others before him and maybe he can take this opportunity to change his life around from a negative to a positve and influence the young generation to do the same.
