CORSPE KEPT UPRIGHT FOR 3 DAY WAKE IN PUERTO RICO

A Puerto Rican man has been granted his wish to remain standing – even in death. A funeral home used a special embalming treatment to keep the corpse of 24-year-old Angel Pantoja Medina standing upright for his three-day wake.

Dressed in a Yankees baseball cap and sunglasses, Pantoja was mourned by relatives while propped upright in his mother’s living room.

His brother Carlos told the El Nuevo Dia newspaper the victim had long said he wanted to be upright for his own wake: “He wanted to be happy, standing.” Continue Reading….

  1. THIS IS SICK AND INSANE!

I DON’T CARE WHAT NOBODY SAY!

IF I WOULD OF WALKED IN THAT HOUSE AND SAW HIM IN THE CORNER DEAD I WOULD TURNED MY ASS AROUND AND WALKED RIGHT BACK OUT THAT HOUSE…..ASAP!

  2. You gotta love it! The body is the “suitcase” for the soul! Closure for family and friends. His soul passed the moment the heart stopped and cleared within 72 hours. Great individual expression! Life & death are the same moment! “Are you the one thinking or the one being thought”?

  3. this is one guy who has it right …. in a way. this is is what i would call not taking death sitting down and looking it in the face.

  4. R.I.P ANGEL.. AND TO THOSE COMMETNING THAT ITS GROSS ETC ETC.. ITS WIERD BECAUSE ITS SOMETHING WE DO NOT SEE, BUT ITS NOT DISCUSTING OR ANYTHING. AND AD FAR A S BEING GROSS CAUSE HES GETTING KISSED.. OMG I DIDNT KNOW IT WAS BAD TO KISS YOUR LOVED ONE ONLY BECAUSE HES NOT IN A BOX.. WAKE UP PEOPLE DAYUMM

  5. First i would like to say r.i.p. to this young man and send my blessings to his loved ones. I believe this is one of the most original and remarkable ideas that i ever heard of and also brings new meaning of the often repeated adage-“we should weep at the birth of a child and rejoice at the death.” After all the rites are for the living to reminisce and say goodbye to the deceased. It provides a sense of finality, and who would rather not see the deceased in a manner that reflected the way that person actually lived?

  6. It is very eerie. Unsettling. Probably for all of the obvious reasons, but I guess who am I to begrudge a person or their family for how they want to be treated in death? Still. I am not sure I could walk in there on not have some bad nightmares no matter who it was.

  7. what the hell is a wake??? is it his funeral or what!?
Im confused but RIP and to the family, it takes guts and courage and strength to do that. I wouldnt be able to allow that. it would creep me out
