Yesterday rapper Rick Ross held an invitation only press conference (yeah the news was that big) and announced that singer/former B2K star Omarion would be joining his label Maybach Music Group (MMG). I actually like Omarion and wish him the best of luck. Big man Ross’ label roster seems to be growing by the minute and the industry seems to have fallen in love with him. I keep coming across pictures of Teyanna Taylor on various blog sites. I haven’t listened to any of her music (I just looked at her and thought nah can’t be bothered to click on ‘play’), but last year she was being touted as the ‘next big thing’ . According to BlackVoices.com singer Omarion has been dropped from his record label. Read report below: Omarion (real name: Omari Ishmael Grandberry) signed as a solo artist to Columbia Records after B2K broke up in December 2003. His boy band was actually signed to Sony’s Epic division. The 23-year-old singer released two solo CDs for the record company, including 2005’s ‘O’ and 2006’s ‘21.’ Both albums were certified gold.
