The video is made in the style of an early Busta Rhymes video (circa 1995 – 1998). Only Bussa Buss could pull it off! I haven’t had a chance to listen to this track yet so can’t comment. So your thoughts please…..
Four years ago the UK’s Lady Sovereign signed a five album deal with Universal Music and was then added to the Def Jam roster under the presidency of Sean Carter aka Jay-Z. After much hype and fanfare things soon turned pear shaped for the young emcee. The endless touring and promotional activities (WORK) began to get to old Sovereign and she went on to have a very public meltdown live on stage one night. Then she promptly disappeared. But now she is back with a new single So Human, new album and […]

UK BLACK MUSIC: THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY Dirty Starr attempted to re-create a hint of that 1970s soul vibe on the track ‘Gangster Boogie’, but flopped! Actually to be fair the music isn’t bad, rapper Fumin sounds ok, but the guy singing on the track just sounds awful!!! I mean was it his intention to sing out of tune for “effect”, or is this his best Ronald Isley impression? Anyway I will be putting ‘Gangster Boogie’ in to my So So […]
Norman Lamb and Tinchy Stryder [Thanks Nessa] By day Norman Lamb walks the corridors of Westminster; by night he becomes an impresario of grime, a form of urban music sweeping the UK. The Lib Dem health spokesman has become involved in the career of up-and-coming artist Tinchy Stryder, who works for his son’s recording company. Mr Lamb, MP for North Norfolk, attends gigs, has offered his car for lifts and even invested £10,000. He told the BBC that he and his wife were […]
UK MUSIC: THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY Ghetts (formally known as ‘Ghetto’) features on this single a long side Griminal. ‘Don’t Phone Me’ makes me laugh and the sound of Ghetts voice takes some getting used to….. The production isn’t bad…..hmmmmm…. well I’ve heard worse……… I wouldn’t say this is good, and I wouldn’t say it’s bad or ugly. It’s just a funny track that I would describe as being… so so…. The 11 – 16 year old demographic will love this! Your thoughts […]
Remember the UK’s Lady Sovereign who 2/3 years ago was being touted as the next big thing to come from this side of the pond? She signed to Universal/Def Jam and expectations were high when she dropped her debut album ‘Public Warning’. Then as predicted it all turned sour and she disappeared off the scene. But now she is back with the single ‘I Got You Dancing’, and is set to drop her sophomore album ‘Jigsaw’ soon. I can’t wait….. Your thoughts please…..
