The FA (Football Association) has decided to charge footballer Rio Ferdinand for acknowledging a tweet from a Twitter follower earlier this month which described fellow player Ashley Cole as a “choc-ice”. Footballer John Terry has been charged with ‘allegedly’ racially abusing QPR player Anton Ferdinand during a match earlier this year. The Chelsea star and England captain was seen on television and later all over YouTube shouting abusive words at Ferdinand. The BBC reports that football club QPR will look in to claims that Chelsea star/England captain John Terry racially abused fellow player Anton Ferdinand during the Chelsea v QPR game yesterday. QPR officials will meet Ferdinand on Tuesday (24 October) and decide whether to proceed with a formal complaint.
