In December 2005 rapper Foxy Brown held a press conference and announced to the universe that she was suffering from severe hearing loss. Foxy gave a highly emotional speech flanked by Russell Simmons, his former wife Kimora Lee, Doug E Fresh and some other random people. DID WHITE VIGILANTE GROUPS BLOCKADE SMALL TOWN POST KATRINA NEW ORLEANS AND MURDER BLACKS?

Earlier this week, A.C. Thompson of  The Nation revealed that after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans in 2005, white vigilante groups patrolled the city, blockaded streets, and shot at least eleven black men. Color of Change plans on organising a campaign to force Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, and state officials to investigate the shootings, because “Louisiana’s broken law enforcement agencies have refused to investigate these crimes.” I can believe this happened.   It will be interesting to see what happens next, now that this story is all over the […]

I was first introduced to the sounds of UK rapper Podgy Figures back in 2005. I think he saw himself as being Britain’s answer to 50 Cent and had a relatively large fan base….. Any way a friend emailed me his 2005 track ‘Podgy’ and I became instantly hooked. I still have it downloaded on my ipod. Whenever I hear this track I just double up with laughter.
