On March 28 I received a press release from online music station Bang Radio 103.6 FM , announcing the exciting news that they were about to officially launch Riddim Radio FM across London and online via http://www.weareriddim.com, becoming the ‘first legal reggae and dancehall music station in the capital’. VYBZ KARTEL SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON FOR MURDER

Dancehall artist Vybz Kartel (real name Adidja Palmer) has been sentenced to life in prison for murder. A jury found 38-year-old Palmer guilty of the death of associate Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams. Williams was killed after being asked to Kartel’s home to discuss two missing illegal hand guns. His body has never been found. UK MUSIC NEWS: RAPPER DEPORTED BACK TO JAMAICA

The Voice reports that rapper Cashtastic (real name Cashief  Nichols) has been deported back to Jamaica. The rapper who was signed to Universal Music first came to Britain 14 years ago, aged six, to live with his mother. Last Monday (March 24), the 20-year-old, who grew up in Peckham, South London, shocked fans when he tweeted: “I’ve been detained/given removal directions by the UKBA. “They’re saying even though I came to the UK age 6 I have no right to be here.” Kano []
