UK NEWS: COURT RULES SCHOOL’S BAN ON CORNROW HAIRSTYLE WAS UNLAWFUL AND INDIRECT RACIAL DISCRIMINATION

Via BBC News A London school’s ban of the cornrows hairstyle resulted in “unlawful, indirect racial discrimination”, the High Court has ruled. Mr Justice Collins said the ban by St Gregory’s Catholic Science College in Harrow was not unlawful in itself, but should have taken into account individual pupils’ family traditions. This Saturday (18th June) the ACLT (African Caribbean Leukemia Trust) will be holding their first donation recruitment drive for the year at the Choice FM head offices in Leicester Square. Live Magazine recently attended the SB.TV launch party which took place at the popular chicken restaurant and second home to the “Team UK” crowd, Nando’s.
