The Metro reports that singer Alexandra Burke needed police protection after she was allegedly sent death threats at her lipstick launch last night. Via BBC News A looter has been jailed for 11-and-a-half years for starting a fire which destroyed a family-run furniture shop in south London in the summer riots. Gordon Thompson, 34, stole a laptop from the House of Reeves in Croydon on 8 August before setting fire to a sofa. Via The Voice An eighteen year old woman has died after falling from the 17th floor of a block of flats during a police raid in Woolwich, south-east London, this morning. Police had entered the tower block on Mulgrave Road at 9.30am to carry out an arrest enquiry and shortly after their entrance the woman fell from a bedroom window located on the 17th floor.
