Spirit of London Awards is in its 4th Year and as a fitting send off to a momentous Year for London 2012 the support line up for the “Community Youth Oscars” is the strongest yet. Rapper Lethal B ( real name Maxwell Ansah) has announced that Selfridges department store will stock his ‘STAY DENCH’ clothing line next month. I feel real honored that Selfridges is gonna be stocking #STAYDENCH clothing next month. UK TV: TOP BOY OPEN CASTING AUDITIONS CANCELLED / MET POLICE CONFIRM “NO REPORTS OF VIOLENCE”

Several days ago I posted news about the questionable up and coming Top Boy open casting call. UPDATE: Open casting auditions for the second series of the Channel 4 drama Top Boy have been cancelled. From what I hear via the Twitter streets hundreds of young people turned up to the open casting call today at Hoxton Hall in North London. The police then arrived to help disperse the crowd and now the auditions have been shut down. Those tweeting false information about #topboy auditions are doing a disservice []

UK NEWS: SCREEN NATION AWARDS CANCELLED TO “PROTECT THE SCREEN NATION BRAND”

The Voice Online reports that the annual Screen Nation Film & Television Awards (aka the ‘black Oscars’) which is due to take place on Sunday (November 11th) at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel has now been cancelled. In a rather intriguing statement organisers said that the event had been cancelled to “protect the Screen Nation Brand” and blamed the last-minute cancellation on “delays in payment,  partners pulling out at late notice and a major health and safety issue.
