Yesterday I posted the news that Steven Spielberg had signed on to co-produce a Martin Luther King biopic, and that King’s estate had for the first time allowed producers to use his copyrighted intellectual property (his speeches, books etc). The Sun reports today that rapper/singer Estelle ‘came within moments of being involved in a terrifying shoot-out’, which left rapper Dolla (real name Roderick Anthony Burton II dead. Estelle had apparently been at the mall where Burton was fatally shot on the 18th May just moments before and assured her friends and family via Twitter that she was safe. I read about this terrible incident yesterday but didn’t get around to posting news on it until now. Another tragic and senseless killing. When will it all end? Via Digital Spy Steven Spielberg has signed up to co-produce a Martin Luther King biopic for DreamWorks, according to Variety. The civil rights leader, who was assassinated in 1968 at the age of 39, copyrighted his speeches, books and works.
