It has been announced that Jay Z’s ROC NATION will be an executive producer on the BBC TV adaptation of Malorie Blackman’s Noughts & Crosses series. Roc Nation will produce the soundtrack of the six-part series.
Participant Media will also serve as an executive producer.
The Noughts & Crosses novel series follows the story of a young couple from two rival classes.
In the story, which is set in an alternate world where black people are the privileged and powerful class and white people are poor and disadvantaged, Callum, a white nought, and Sephy, a black cross, navigate a world in which their love is forbidden.
Blackman said:
“I am so thrilled and excited Roc Nation and Participant Media are going to be involved in the Noughts & Crosses series as executive producers. They’re going to bring an extra dimension to the production that I can’t wait to see – and hear!”
Blackman will release the fifth part of the Noughts & Crosses series entitled Crossfire, in 2019.
