An emotional Trish Adudu uses powerful language as she talks to Nick tonight after being racially abused on the streets of Coventry.
Black people experienced this blatant racial abuse on a daily basis during the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s in Britain. I am guessing that up until this disgusting and disturbing incident, Trish had only ever experienced covert racism.
Anyway, I just hope the police find the perpetrator.
I did almost tear up while listening to her account of what happened. Stay strong Trish.
I can see how shaken up she is, too. It’s good that you can at least call the police and report it. Here in the US, that kind of speech is protected by the First Amendment, so there’s really not much we can do about it when we’re confronted with it.
