When I landed at Gatwick Airport on Friday after a restful 3 weeks in Jamaica, I was confident that we (Britain) would still be in the EU (The European Union). I however got the shock of my life along with my fellow passengers when the pilot announced the result. The people have voted, and we will exit the European Union.
I think everyone, including those who voted to exit (even the politicians), deep down didn’t actually believe that this would happen. Prime Minister David Cameron who was for staying in the EU confidently thought ‘I got this! We will still be in the EU come Friday morning’. Now he has resigned and will have to vacate Number 10 Downing Street in October.
It has also been announced that now four Labour shadow cabinet members have resigned, and more resignations are expected, in protest at Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership over the EU referendum (Read Here).
At the moment the future for this country is uncertain and I can sense panic in the air. It’s an uncomfortable feeling.
Interesting times ahead folks….
#Brexit
I voted to remain, and was very surprised on my way to work, when I found the outcome. These are truly interesting times.
