In a recent interview with The British Blacklist, founder Kojo spoke about the motivation behind this project.

He said:

The motivation behind this project was to show people what we do. We’ve been told constantly that nothing is happening which usually means you can’t see it on TV or in the cinema but there is so much happening with our actors here and abroad that we don’t get to see. It may not be moving at the pace we would like it to, but there is progress, the train has left the station. We just need to jump on that train and add our creativity to it. I researched the evolution of BET and how Netflix works, instead of talking about why don’t we have the same things here I decided to create it.
