Urban Lawyers is a team of dedicated volunteers who have developed an online education research portal, which is designed to educate, engage and stimulate discussion amongst young people; about their attitudes to Criminal Law, Policing and personal responsibility.
In essence, it is a platform where law can be accessed by young people, and provides information to people who would not otherwise have access to it or be able to comprehend it. This is done through a practical educational programme for schools, charities and organisations that work with young people, in order to engage the youth in discussions about their attitude towards Law and Order. The initiative also provides individuals the tools to work with young people thus providing a better understanding of the underlying reasons why young people commit crime and the consequences.
The aim of the project is to help deter disaffected young people from a life of crime and improve their understanding of the Criminal Justice System and its policing.
