Yesterday hundreds of protesters staged a “die-in” at the Westfield shopping centre in Shepherds Bush over the decision in New York to not indict a police officer in the death of Eric Garner. The protest was organised by the campaign group London Black Revs.
Eric Garner (43) died on 17 July in Staten Island, New York, after officers attempted to arrest him on suspicion of selling untaxed “loose cigarettes (yes stopped, then put in to an illegal chokehold and killed over loose cigarettes folks!).
A suspect US grand jury decided against charging anyone over the death earlier this month.
Rest In Peace Eric Garner.
