Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has begged viewers’ forgiveness after he appeared to use the N-word during filming of his BBC programme Top Gear.
In a video statement posted onlineon Thursday, he said that he had tried to obscure the word when reciting the “eeny, meeny, miny, moe” nursery rhyme to chose between two cars, but that his efforts to do so “weren’t quite good enough”.
Clarkson had previously issued a robust denial of the allegation, telling his 3.2 million Twitter followers:
“I did not use the N-word. Never use it. The Mirror has gone way too far this time.”
But footage of the incident was later posted on The Daily Mirror website. In it Clarkson recites the beginning of the children’s nursery rhyme “eeny, meeny, miny, moe” before apparently mumbling: “Catch a nigger by his toe.”
His apology came after a day of growing calls for the BBC to sack him. The corporation issued a strongly worded statement saying: “Jeremy Clarkson has set out the background to this regrettable episode. We have made it absolutely clear to him, the standards the BBC expects on air and off. We have left him in no doubt about how seriously we view this.”
Last week Jeremy was accused of racism after naming his black dog after footballer Didier Dogba.
Anyway…
First the arrogant fool denied he said the n-word and now he’s begging for forgiveness in a comical video statement (well it made me laugh out loud).
Jeremy has been getting away with spouting offensive nonsense for some time now and has always laughed off any backlash that has come his way.
It looks as if his luck has finally ran out.

I don’t think he is going to get fired. As you said above he has been getting away with saying offensive stuff for a long time so saying the “magic words” is not going to be the thing that gets him the sack. A MP has already made excuses for BBC not too. But saying all that, it looks like someone on his team must of had enough and leaked this video hoping to get the same result that got Richard Keys sacked from Sky Sports for Sexism.
People like him live and breath bigotry and hate then play it for laughs, that’s why he has a large following because that’s what it seems a lot of people in England secretly love. Same with Katie Hopkins. This situation should not of been the first trigger to say he has gone to far and for people to realize someone like him would say those things easily. And the funny thing is some of these white working/lower class people running to this mans defense yet people like Jeremy Clarkson will get payed big money to take the piss out of those very same people.
There was a video on You-Tube from a comic called Stewart Lee who called out this man long time ago that is very relevant today.
Funny how he dreams up an imaginary note of a few words from years ago in that apology that was so ridiculously bait the cheek of it lol. Thats far from an apology more like an excuse.
