A nine-minute audio clip was released last night by TMZ (April 25) “allegedly” featuring Los Angeles Clippers billionaire owner Donald Sterling telling his half Mexican, half African-American girlfriend V. Stiviano, not to bring black people to “my games”.
The argument apparently started after Stiviano posted a photograph of herself with basketball legend Magic Johnson who says he will now boycott all Clippers games while Sterling still owns the team.
During the ridiculous exchange Sterling says the following:
You can sleep with (black people). You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want. The little I ask of you is not to promote it on (Instagram) and not to bring them to my games.”
“I’m just saying, in your lousy f—ing Instagrams, you don’t have to have yourself with black people.”
“Don’t put Johnson (Magic Johnson) on an Instagram for the world to have to see so they have to call me. And don’t bring him to my games.”
At the beginning of the audio Stiviano says:
I wish I could change the skin. The colour of my skin.
The NBA (National Basketball Association) has since issued the following statements via Twitter:
“We are in the process of conducting a full investigation into the audio recording obtained by TMZ.”
“The remarks heard on the recording are disturbing and offensive, but at this time we have no further information.”
No comment from camp Sterling yet.
I don’t know who is worse, the “girlfriend” or that old racist fool.
Well even Stevie Wonder can see why V. Stiviano is in a relationship with the racist prune Sterling and YOU my dear should be ashamed of yourself. You are a disgrace!
I am willing to bet that Stiviano sold the audio to TMZ but that move is about to backfire on her. She now just looks like a woman willing to do anything and ANYONE for money.
But at least the black players in the team now know what their owner really thinks of them (that’s if they didn’t know already). It will be interesting to see how they handle this situation.
Black British footballers could learn something here.
