Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith have both won Razzie Awards for their efforts in the sci-fi film After Earth.
The father and son won three awards, Jaden Smith for worst actor, Will Smith for worst supporting actor and worst screen combo.
After Earth cost $130m (£78m) to make and was co-written by Will Smith and directed by M Night Shyamalan. The film only grossed $60m at the US and Canadian box office.
Jaden and Will did not attend the ceremony.
The Golden Raspberry Awards, called the Razzies for short, is an award ceremony in recognition of the worst in film. Founded by American copywriter and publicist John J. B. Wilson in 1980, the annual Razzie Awards ceremony in Los Angeles precedes the corresponding Academy Awards ceremony by one day. The term raspberry in the name is used in its irreverent sense, as in “blowing a raspberry”. The awards themselves are in the form of a “golfball-sized raspberry” which sits atop a Super 8 mm film reel, the whole of which is spray-painted gold.
Hahahahahahahaha – Oh dear!
The Razzies crack me up. I would love to attend a ceremony one day.
I still have not watched After Earth but judging from the clips that I have seen it just looks like one big old vanity project for the Smiths.
