Why’s it a problem when Spike does it?
Companies owned by millionaires regularly use kickstarters to fund game development.
They’ve got 2 different million dollar+ kickstarted projects.
David Braben is a multi, multi millionaire. yet no outcry! wtf?
That was just brilliant!
At first I thought it was a loan scheme or something.
I understand what he’s saying but does he really need to go this route to fund a lot of his films? What did he do with his money from three decades ago to the point he still uses this means to fund his films when Tyler Perry has gone from broke and homeless, to using his own money to put on plays to an almost empty audience to having his own studios in probably a little over ten years. Both directors have a strong support from the Black community and have done since the start of their careers.
Well they do say in Hollywood never use your own money to fund your own projects. I guess it works for some and not for others. Even Eliza Dushku (Dollhouse) was asking twitter followers for donations to fund a documentary to raise $60k. Must be what they do.
Anyway like Spike said in the beginning we really DON’T know about his financial situation.
