BBC Newsbeat reports that mogul and co-founder of Def Jam Records Russell Simmons is to launch a new record label.
Def Music will work in partnership with YouTube and Universal Records and the aim is to showcase new talent who upload their music on the video sharing site
Simmons said in a statement:
“This is the most exciting new terrain for me,”
“I look forward to working with the extraordinary talent from the vastly creative YouTube ecosystem in the same way I’ve worked with musicians, poets, comedians and designers all my life.”
Hmmmmm…. this will be interesting.
