VIDEO: UK RAPPER AKALA TALKS ABOUT RACISM IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY

akala

This interview was filmed late last year but has only just been brought to my attention.

Now name me one other well known male black artist in this country who would be brave enough to stand up and say all this publicly?

Hold on I’ll wait….

  1. I remember his tweets about this issue…Akala is very astute and charismatic speaker, I could listen to him all day!

  2. This brother has sense, is very intelligent and is not afraid to tackle issues of a sensitive nature. Obviously the establishment doesn’t like Akala too much as he doesn’t conform to the stereotype of a dumb Negro.

  3. akala speaks the truth . within a demographic that is more concerned with getting doe and getting accepted and getting “in the door”… very proud of this brother here… i consider him a leader… and a friend!!!..

  4. I love this man, yuh see… he must get it in the neck for being black and intelligent and furthermore he must confuse anybody who also has a certain stereotype of (black/white) mixed race people. He is aware, unlike some many mixed race people that having a white parent will NOT give him white privilege. His mother must be clued up about that and clued up her children, thus providing them strength and true courage. I know too many white parents of mixed race children who think that they are setting a new trend and that by having mixed race children, they will combat racism. Well you can’t if you don’t really acknowledge how it works in the first place……
