I don’t know how I feel about this web documentary series that is supposed to be about Dancehall culture and is co-executive produced by Snoop Dogg aka ‘Snoop Lion’ 😦
In episode 1 the narrator reveals that she was born and raised in Jamaica but you don’t sense any real connection there. She sounds like a stranger who is just discovering Jamaica and it’s music scene for the first time.
Episode 2 just makes me cringe for a number of reasons. The world does not need to see ridiculous groupies hanging around rehearsal studios and a young woman standing outside a night club dressed in a bra and big panties, mumbling something about “a man must approach me like a gentleman”.
Also why no interviews with Popcaan (who this episode focuses on and the narrator spends time with), Shabba Ranks and Beenie Man who are also featured?
But anyway on a positive note… Shabba looks well.
