US TV network NBC Universal has renewed ‘The Trisha Goddard Show’ for a second season.
In a press release the network said:
“Trisha Goddard,” which has already been renewed in more than 85% of the U.S. for its second season in national syndication, is executive produced by Paul Faulhaber and hosted by popular television personality, Trisha Goddard. Since its debut, the one-hour talk show has been upgraded in major markets including Philadelphia, Boston, Detroit, Phoenix, Las Vegas and more.
“We are so pleased that our station partners have recognized the success of ‘Trisha’ and have upgraded the show to higher-profile time periods,” said NBCU’s Wallach. “As we head in to season 2, we expect ‘Trisha’ to grow and achieve the same success as we have had with our other long-running conflict talk shows.”
“It has been an incredible experience working with Trisha and I look forward to another successful season,” said Faulhaber. “Trisha and our staff have put their hearts and souls into this show and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring more compelling stories to our audience.”
The British television star hosted her own hit talk show here titled ‘Trisha’ on Channel Five for several years. That was until Channel Five bigwigs decided to axe the show in 2009 claiming it was “too expensive”.
After that Trisha more or less disappeared from British television screens, but then resurfaced stateside when she appeared on the popular Maury Show as a host.
Trisha went down a storm across the pond and was later rewarded with her own US talk show.
And surprise surprise…. now Channel Five has decided to “embrace” Trisha again (the same station that AXED her show blaming their decision on “the economic climate”). Yes Five is now airing ‘The Trisha Goddard show weekdays.
All I can do is laugh.
