Will Smith must be sitting at home with his head buried in his hands. I doubt he wanted the world to know about this.
In a new interview with Billboard T.I reveals that his good friend and megastar Will Smith contacted President Obama and asked him to release the rapper from prison.
He said:
“Will actually went as far as getting in touch with [attorney general] Eric Holder and the Obama administration trying to see if we could get some kind of release. He was very politely told that was not possible.”
“He was in deep discussions about it. And he’s been a huge contributor to the administration, and I mean not just in finances, I’m talking about time and other kinds of efforts, so it ain’t like his words were falling on deaf ears.”
“I didn’t even expect no help. I didn’t expect nobody to help me. I knew I made my bed and I knew I had to lay in it.”
T.I (real name Clifford Harris) was first imprisoned on U.S. federal weapons convictions in 2009. He was then released in March 2010, but swiftly thrown back in to prison after he and his wife (Tiny Cottle) were arrested on drug charges in Los Angeles.

It does my heart good to know that Will uses his powerful and influential connections to do good in the world.
What the HELL was he thinking trying to get the President involved in T.I’s screwed up situation? He ended up back behind bars because of his own arrogance and stupidity.
And T.I really needs to learn to keep his trap shut. You don’t blab to a magazine about your friend’s close connections to POTUS (President of the United States) and then reveal how he attempted to pull strings in order to break you out of the jail house.
There are some things that you just don’t put out there in to the public domain.

I co-sign Chico-Rei. That’s why white folks get away with a lot more than black folks they know how to zip it. Some black folks are always trying to bring attention to themselves and go about it the wrong way. I believe during President Clinton administration he pardon a few people who was in jail, so perhaps Will was hoping the same for T.I.. But it should have been confidential and not use to boost his hype in a magazine. Word to Will Smith next time you try to help someone double and triple check that person is not an idiot.
