CoolBrands is an annual initiative to identify and celebrate Britain’s coolest brands. Since 2001 the survey has been canvassing the views and opinions of consumers all over the country to produce an annual barometer of the nation’s coolest brands.
This year’s survey also sought opinions from an Expert Council made up of appointed influencers. This year’s panel of appointed influencers includes actor David Harewood (Homeland), rapper Plan B, Kiss FM duo Rickie & Melvin (Rickie Haywood-Williams and Melvin Odoom), rap-pop duo Rizzle Kicks and blogger Susanna Lau.

I am not surprised to see Apple at the top of the list. People camp out outside Apple stores for DAYS hungry to get their hands on the latest slightly upgraded iPhone and probably spend their entire savings on Apple products. Some might even go as far as trying to sell their own mothers in exchange for an iPad.
And the fact that almost half the list is made up of technology and online media brands does not come as a surprise either. Some of us just cannot stay away from Google, Twitter and YouTube.
I did however expect to see apparel giant Adidas in the top 20 list simply because they were a major Olympic sponsor and their advertising campaigns could be seen EVERYWHERE including the moon.
Well better luck next time Adidas.
Your thoughts please…..
