Violator Management founder and Hip Hop manager Chris Lighty (44) has died.

The New York Daily News reports that Lighty died early this morning.

Sources claim the music mogul shot himself after an argument with his estranged wife Veronica outside his Bronx apartment.

Lighty had been a part of the Hip Hop scene for many years and worked with pioneers LL Cool J and KRS-One before going on to found Violator Management where he managed the careers of  Mariah Carey, 50 Cent and P Diddy to name but a few.
